1970’s
The Gavin Family has been involved in the haulage industry for over fifty years serving local needs at this time traditionally involved in transportation for the construction and agricultural sectors.
1998
Current Managing Director Eoin Gavin established Eoin Gavin Transport and was awarded an Operator Licence issued by the Department of Transport. The business expanded from construction and agriculture to offering a broad transport service across Ireland and the UK. The Fleet continued to expand to support sectors including manufacturing and engineering.
1999
Eoin Gavin Transport transported its first load to Mainland Europe and now offers import and export services across Continental Europe.
2000
We began to manage large-scale projects on behalf of our customers, involving multiple vehicles and working to exact delivery schedules. The project scope is agreed and the team then manage the entire project from planning to collection to final successful delivery and project completion.
2004
Continued to invest in our fleet and advances in technology. We were one of the first companies to install satellite-tracking systems in our vehicles tracking locations across Europe for efficient fleet planning and fuel consumption monitoring.
2008
We received first ISO Award in 2008. Eoin Gavin Transport also responded to the changing needs of our customers that required a palletised transport service in addition to part and full loads.
2008
We became a partner member of The Pallet Network (TPN). This is a network of 24 regional transport companies. Together we collect and deliver pallets in every County in Ireland on an overnight delivery service. We are also integrated with The Pallet Network (TPN) UK.
2011
Eoin Gavin became the president of the Irish Road Haulage Association and served 2 terms from 2011 to 2015. The IRHA is the recognised national representative body of the licensed road haulage industry in the Republic of Ireland. During his leadership, significant achievements include the overhaul of the HGV Road Taxation system, the introduction of a Fuel Rebate programme for licenced hauliers and adjustments to the weight and speed limits for HGV vehicles across Ireland.
2016
In collaboration with Dennison Trailers we introduced the first Eco-Combi Vehicle double trailer not just to our fleet but it was the first to take to the roads in Ireland. The carbon footprint of customers pallets has reduced by 30%. Less vehicles on the road, less emissions and continuing to lead and invest in advances for a more eco-friendly transport service.
2018
We continued to enhance our Aviation Logistics services portfolio. Working closely with our airline customers, leasing companies, specialist service providers and manufactures to the Aviation industry transporting parts to aircraft engines across Ireland the UK and Europe.
2020
Continued to operate our fleet as an essential service both nationally and internationally during the Covid-19 pandemic. Preparations for the impact of Brexit on imports and exports were finalised. We also established our Customs Clearance Agency.
2021
We launched our in-house Customs Clearance Agency In January 2021, lead by Director Denise Gavin providing guidance and advice to customers as well as completing all customs formalities.
